We are not able to do flip top gift boxes in our MATT paper range, or any other paper that has a weight of less than 100gsm. There are three ways we can do a flip top lid for you.

The first is the "Book type

With this box the flip top and base board is slightly larger than the base inside the box.  This type of box has no closing mechanism for the lid on its own, so the lid will easily flap open if there is nothing that will keep it closed.  For this type of box (if the box needs to be closed) we usually use a satin ribbon attached to the base and the lid to tie with a ribbon bow, and keep the contents secured.  We are able to make these boxes up and use BRANDED satin or Woven ribbon as the ribbon closures – as long as the rotary process of printing is used – with opening and closing the screen-print on a ribbon tends to come off.

The next flip top box is a “Flip top with a flap over closure”

With this box, the lid still flips open, but has a closure flap on the front of the box to keep it closed.  

Unfortunately we do not use magnets for these anymore and would rather use clasps or velcro dots.

These boxes look very similar to the standard book box type apart from the flap on the front.
